The primary objectives of NSWMC are to:
1. Promote a responsible and considered approach to land use in NSW that embraces appropriate access to mineral resources and to land for exploration purposes.
2. Ensure that the legislative and regulatory framework is relevant and effective for an industry which is operating in highly competitive domestic and international markets.
3. Promote the highest standards of occupational health and safety and environmental management.
4. Ensure the community understands the benefits of a modern, environmentally responsible, minerals industry.
5. Promote a healthy economy in which the industry can operate profitably.
