The NSW minerals industry has launched an education and awareness initiative to shine the light on some of the lesser known aspects of what NSW Miners do.
Most people know that NSW Miners generate jobs and money for the economy – more than 300,000 direct and indirect jobs plus $1.2 billion a year in royalties that helps pay for essential government services like nurses, teachers and police.
But it’s not enough to just be good for the economy. We want to be good for NSW.
So this education and awareness initiative aims to shed light on some of the other things we do. Just like a miner’s torch lights up the dark corners of a mine, here we are lighting up the other side of mining - tree-planting and regeneration, world-leading safety practices, water-saving and our support for the community.
