The dinners are targeted at Year 12 students, their science and maths teachers and careers advisors and are designed to increase enrolments in minerals related tertiary courses in 2008.
The evening will provide the opportunity to hear first-hand, undergraduates and graduates from mining related courses discuss how their chosen career pathways related to science subjects at school. Our undergraduate and graduate speakers will also share their industry experiences and will be able to answer questions throughout the evening.
Also present will be staff from University of Wollongong and University of NSW, other Universities and local mining member companies.
Young undergraduates from mining engineering and geoscience courses join with young professionals from the industry to explain the variety and opportunities presented by careers within the minerals industry both in NSW and globally.
The 2008 Careers Dinner Schedule will be available soon.
