Mineral processing operators use equipment to process mineral ores until the final form is produced.
You can work as a mineral processing operator without formal qualifications. You will probably get some informal training on the job.
You can also become a mineral processing operator through a traineeship in Extractive Industries Operations/(Operator). Entry requirements may vary, but employers generally require Year 10. For more details on traineeships, see the Learning Pathways section or call the New Apprenticeships Referral Line on 1800 639 629 (FREECALL).
Ask your careers adviser about the possibility of starting some of this training in school.
