

The health of NSW miners is an important long-term issue for the minerals industry. It affects all aspects and levels of the industry from individual health and fitness for work right up to our ability to operate.
Health issues have tended to take a back seat when compared with the safety of miners, however the NSWMC believes that both health and safety are interrelated and that both require effective management to ensure the well being of people in the industry.
The NSWMC is an active member or participant of a number of organisations looking at ways to improve miners' health. These include: Coal Services Health and Safety Trust, ACARP, MCA Health Working Group and the Australian Rural Health Research Collaboration Group.
