

Water is vital for mining and minerals processing. Some of the uses of water in the minerals industry include dust suppression, ore extraction and processing and irrigation of rehabilitated areas. Although mining operations are relatively small users of water in NSW they are continually looking for ways to improve water efficiency.
The NSW Minerals Council has developed a Water Fact Sheet outlining water use in the NSW minerals industry. The Fact Sheet explains how water is used, how water is accessed and what the industry is doing to use water efficiently. The Fact Sheet can be viewed and downloaded below.
