Working together
Minerals companies in NSW are a part of their local communities. They consult with them on the planning and operation of mines, often through the mechanism of
Community Consultative Committees, and contribute to community life by sponsoring and supporting environmental projects, sporting clubs, community facilities and open days.
Companies are assisted in their community engagements by best-practice
guidelines and research.
Companies also engage with
indigenous communities on land access, cultural heritage and employment. In association with NSWMC, they also engage with school communities across the state by providing
educational resources about minerals, mining and careers.
